Guests are required to show photo identification upon check-in.
Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Booking & Cancellation Policies 

​

  • If cancellation is done within 15 days of arrival, then full amount will be charged.

  • All refunds will attract a 5% administrative charge and it would take 10 minimum working days for the refund.

  • In case of a no-show or cancellation of a guaranteed reservation, the hotel reserves the right to levy retention charges for the entire stay.

  • You will be required to do a bank transfer of 100% of the total amount for confirmation of your booking.

  • In case of any health issues, within 15 days, bookings may be transferable within the next 6 months, depending on availability and subject to change in tariff.

  • We accept all types of credit/debit cards, net banking, UPI, and cash.

Child Policies

  • Children of all ages are welcome. 

  • Children, aged 7 and below stay free of charge (up to a maximum of 1 children); however, will be charged INR 1000/- per night on use of an extra bed.

  • Any child aged 8 years and above will be treated as an adult with charges as applicable.

  • Any additional guest,  adult/child above 8 years, will be charged Rs 2000/- per night, inclusive of breakfast.

  • It should be noted, we don't have a provision for an extra bed in Mountain view house

Dining

​

  • At Vanilla County our dining is a bit different from hotels and resorts; firstly our dining is exclusively for our in-house guests only. Our efforts at the property have been to provide an experience that is closer to a local home than that of a hotel; we don't have menu cards and the menu depends upon the availability of resources from the farms.

  • We request our guests to advise us on any food restrictions or preferences in advance.

  • We don't have room service.

  • Outside food and self-cooking are not allowed on the property.

  • Breakfast timings are 8:30AM-10:00 AM; Lunch 1:00 PM -2:30 PM, and Dinner 7:30 PM-9:30 PM.

  • Evening tea -4:00 PM-5:00 PM.

  • Advance booking and prior notice of 4 hours necessary for lunch and dinner.

  • We use coconut oil for cooking.

A general pattern of our set menu is given below.

 

Breakfast: Continental (cereals, toast eggs to order, sausage, fruits, fresh juice, Cake) + 1 South Indian

Lunch: Kerala rice and 02 veg dishes + 2 nonveg, and dessert to follow or Kerala biriyani with veg and nonveg options

Afternoon Tea/coffee with a Kerala snack

Dinner: Salad, Indian bread, flavored rice, 2 veg dishes, 02 nonveg dishes, and fruits.

House rules

​

  • We are purely a family-friendly property and we don’t entertain bachelors or unmarried couples.

  • We are a pet-friendly property. Please note, we have a very friendly Labrador Koffi, who belongs to our family, and he roams around the property.

  • Please note, TV is available in the common room, but not in the bedrooms.

  • Only Jio network is available in the property, but we do have strong wifi throughout.

  • Laundry (washing and drying) is available on applicable charges.

  • We don’t tolerate any sort of parties or gatherings at Vanilla County without prior permission.

  • The property turns to quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM, any sort of activities that produce loud noise are strictly prohibited considering our guests as well as the surroundings.

  • Usage of any kind of illegal drugs and weapons is prohibited on the property and strict action will be taken in case of violation of the terms.

  • All rooms are designed as non-smoking rooms; however, ashtrays are available outside the rooms.

  • The management is not responsible for any damage or loss of any personal belongings of guests.

  • Guests are responsible for any damage or loss caused to the property and amenities and should be willing to bear the cost of damages.

  • All guests are responsible for their own safety and security while participating in any indoor or outdoor activities including off-road trips, rock pool visits, plantation walks, etc.

  • Mountain view house is 60 steps away from the ground, and it may be difficult for elderly people or people with knee problems to climb up to the house, so please make sure that it is convenient for you before booking.

  • Garden view house is a 2-bedroom interconnected villa with a shared verandah, so it can only be booked as a whole ( 2 rooms together)

  • Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

  • Please be aware that the property is not exactly at Vagamon, we are about 8-10 km away in-between Teekoy and Vagamon. We are in the calm and serene village of Mavady surrounded by rubber, coffee, and pepper plantations.

  • If accompanied by driver or guide: We have driver’s quarters in our estate 1.5 km away and we provide free accommodation, a washroom, and a parking facility. Please note that we don’t have driver’s accommodation, washroom, or parking within the premises of Vanilla County and they have to travel 1.5 km to reach their accommodation. We can provide food for drivers on a chargeable basis if needed, we don’t have a driver’s canteen, and food will be served along with guests. Or we can direct them to nearby shops where meals are available. Please advise in advance regarding the required arrangements. Please make sure that this information is passed on to drivers prior to arrival to avoid any sort of disputes.
